Marketing

Marketing job roles in media are basically just overseeing the financial aspects of a production in terms of making money from that production. It generally requires a good understanding of monkeys how marketing works and they would need to be persuasive to convince people to buy something in some cases, also it would require you to be fairly good at maths. One job in the marketing industry is the producer, their responsibilities is to oversee all the financial aspects of a production and deal with the distribution companies. Film publicists have the role of assisting distributors with the advertising of a production to get the biggest audience. They have to have a good knowledge of what attracts specific audience's to watch a film and use in this in radio, tv, print advertisements.

Editorial

Editorial jobs also quite a lot of technical skill because only certain people have the ability to look at something and decide what needs to changing and then edit it, also for roles such as film editing you would need the skill to use the editing software. A script editor basically looks over the existing script and decides  how it could be improved or what should be taken out of it, they will tell the script writer and they will make the changes to the script. A film editor's job is basically to use editing software to edit clips of a production together to create the final production but has to be creative to make it look as good as possible. A newspaper editor will oversee a newspaper and decide what goes in or if something needs changing, perhaps if there is an innapropriate headline or if a story has too much false information then they would ask the writer to change it or it won't be allowed in. Editorial roles usually require you to be very critical to decide if something should be included in a final production or not and could be a tedious job because it requires so much work and you could easily miss something out by accident that shouldn't be there.

Technical

Technical job roles in media often involve a set of skills that a lot of people will not have, but also involves a fair bit of creativity too. For example a sound engineer will try and make the sound effects and noises stand out more and fit in with the film which involves a bit of creative but a lot of technical skill too. A lightning technician has to be creative because he has to use lighting to set the mood for a production and to get the best look from it but it requires technical skill to use the lighting equipment. A camera operator requires technical skill to use the camera but creativity to capture the director's vision of what the production will look like and get the best shots possible.

Creative

Creative job roles in the media can range from a number of different roles, one of which is a scriptwriter, a job which involves imagination and creativity to come up with a storyline for a film of some sort. Also there is graphic designer which would involve being creative to come up with a graphic that represents something and looks good at the same time. Set designers have to use their creativity and imagination to come up with a set which suits the production using the set. Also there are artists who need to be creative to create characters for a production, choose what they look like and make them fit into a production.
